It's time to recognize another Telegram & Gazette Student of the Week for the week of November 10, 2025. There are three strong nominees this week.
The T&G asked high school principals, teachers, and guidance counselors to nominate students they say have shown outstanding school achievement and community service.

Angel Marcario Alvardo, Claremont Academy: Angel, a senior, is known by his teachers as a dedicated, positive, genuine, friendly and hard-working student. This year, he challenged himself by enrolling in his first Advanced Placement course—and he’s thriving! Angel remains connected with his former teachers and regularly volunteers at basketball practices, mentoring younger students about what it means to be a true student-athlete. Beyond the classroom, Angel has played an integral role in Claremont Academy’s school redesign process. He has engaged thoughtfully in discussions about improving school culture and strengthening relationships. He has participated in classroom visits with students and staff to reflect on the overall student experience. Angel is a leader and positive role model for his classmates and peers and the wider school community.
John Bradley, Burncoat High School: JJ, a senior, is a fantastic student. He exudes positivity and always brings joy to others. He always completes his assignments on time. If he has a question, JJ is not afraid to ask for help. He is incredibly kind and respectful to his peers and adults.
Alexis Huard, David Prouty High School: Alexis, a junior, has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school years while balancing extracurriculars. She is in the National Honor Society and the Student Council. She is the junior class treasurer. Also, she was awarded the Exchange Club of Spencer's "18 Under 18" last year. She has been cheerleading for David Prouty since eighth grade and continues to compete as co-captain. One major recognition she received is the "All-American Cheerleader Award" at the Universal Cheerleaders Association camp this summer, for outstanding skills, leadership, and character.
