Academics provided at Knox Trail Middle School allow for student exploration through rigorous and relevant tasks that align with the 2011 Massachusetts State Core Curriculum Standards. Teachers provide a viable learning environment for all students by following the instructional calendars designed for each discipline. Interventions and supports are available and provided on an as needed basis. Please refer to the program of studies using the link on left of screen for a more detailed description of each course provided for our students. The MCAS Detailed Report depicts student performance by subject tested.

The school day for grades 5-8 consists of six 50 minute periods for classroom instruction. Students take 4 year-long classes comprised of English, Mathematics, Science, or History/Reading and two semester long 50 minute related art classes such as PE, Music/Band, Art, STEM, and Foreign Language. Embedded in the schedule is a 30 WIN (What I Need) block for interventions, remediation, and enrichment.

Homeroom begins promptly at 7:35 a.m. and students can be dropped off after 7:20 in the morning for breakfast or morning recess. Dismissal begins at 2:05 for the first round of bus students. Walkers plus remaining bus students dismiss at 2:10 in the afternoon.
