This is the district office of Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District.
This message concerns a post that's making its way across the Internet on various social media platforms.
The post suggests violence at school but is not specific to any school in particular. Some students have chosen to share the post, further spreading the threat.
A handful of our schools have received calls about the post, and we have law enforcement involved, keeping a close eye on each of our campuses.
At this point, no credible threat has been made against any of our schools.
We wanted you to know we are aware of the posts, our School Resource Officer knows about them, and local law enforcement is also looking into them.
We encourage you to remind your child about the importance of making good choices, particularly when it comes to what they see, read, and share on social media.
Our schools are safe places for students and staff, and we want to keep them that way.
