SEBRSD news

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This letter is to inform you that we will again be running a summer school at Knox Trail Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year. Research indicates that the impact of the pandemic on K–12 student learning was significant, leaving students on average five months behind in mathematics and four months behind in reading by the end of the school year. The pandemic widened preexisting opportunity and achievement gaps, hitting historically disadvantaged students hardest. To bridge this learning gap, we will hold an accelerated learning summer school for students in English and Math. The program will be three days a week, from Tuesday through Thursday. Classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Every student will receive instruction in both Math and English daily. We are currently working with food services to provide lunches for all students who attend summer classes. Transportation will not be provided at this time. We’ll post room assignments shortly. Lastly, we’ll provide you with further details as they become available.

If you would like your student to participate in our Summer Enrichment classes, please get in touch with me by sending an email to borsethr@sebrsd.org expressing your interest. We will accept students on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please sign up no later than Wednesday, June 29th.

Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Ralph Borseth
