Mr. Barnett's Freshman Exploratory in Environmental Science ...
... were challenged with "How many freshmen can we fit in the dumpster?"
Well THAT got our attention! 🙃 It's Mr. Barnett's way of beginning the discussion of the waste stream and "Where does your trash really go?" This is the school's recycling dumpster and when they become Sophomores, students will follow the actual recycling to a local Materials Recovery Facility in Auburn and see what happens next!
Real-world learning that we ALL have an impact on!

⚽Athletic Registration has closed for the Fall season!
Attendance Matters! Parents / guardians play a key role in supporting your child and preparing them for a successful future. Engaging children in learning so they are equipped and feel empowered for the next steps in life after graduation starts with attending school regularly.
Regular school attendance is critical to student success, not just academically, but for social/ emotional health, as well. Excessive school absences not only cause students to fall behind academically but can also cause anxiety issues when returning to school, due to missed lessons and make-up work. In addition, peer relationships can be negatively impacted.
We will keep a running list of Important Dates & Reminders for you each week in The Friday Memo so you can be sure not to miss anything important. For planning purposes, check out the district calendar here or click on the thumbnail (right).

💊 Medications at School: All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be brought to the Health Office by a parent/guardian along with a physician’s order. NEW this week! 👉 Health Tips: Did you know?
September is National Fruits & Veggies - More Matters Month! According to the MyPlate website https://www.myplate.gov/eat-healthy/what-is-myplate, girls 14-18 years should aim to consume 1.5 to 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 to 3 cups of vegetables daily. Boys 14-18 years should aim for 2-2.5 cups of fruit and 2.5-4 cups of vegetables daily.
Research indicates that consuming a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables is associated with a reduced risk of many chronic diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Adding more colorful produce to your meals can boost energy, support focus in class, and strengthen your immune system!
Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
