Student musicians got an opportunity to see each other, perform in front of a university crowd and share the camaraderie of music and band life. Thank you to our Panther Marching Band for showing what David Prouty Pride is all about. Below, the Panther Marching Band is shown at a competition in Norwood on Sunday, where they earned 3 out of 5 stars in Percussion, Color Guard, Music, and Overall Performance!

Hiking Students Apply Outdoor Living Skills!

Boiling water is a quick and easy way to purify it. Learning how to make a small but safe spot fire can be helpful. Simple rules in Mr. Barnett's Hiking class: you get one match and your fire must burn for one minute. Students spend time learning how fire works and are allowed plenty of time to collect tinder and kindling. With a little patience and effort, everyone was successful! Below, shelter building is demonstrated and tested for students practicing their survival skills.

DPHS 9th Graders are in their FOURTH and FINAL rotation of Exploratory at David Prouty High School !
Please remember, as students start their fourth rotation, conversations you can have at home that support your child's consideration about their goals, interests, skills, and hobbies, and how that may influence their choice in a program for Quarter 2, are greatly appreciated! Stay tuned for more information on placements for the remainder of the year!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to emphasize the importance of early detection and adopt healthy habits that promote long-term wellness. While breast cancer is rare in teens, learning about self-awareness and family health history is an important step toward lifelong health. Please encourage the women in your life to schedule regular screenings!
Learn more about breast cancer and click the link from National Breast Cancer Foundation https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/what-is-breast-cancer/
The pink ribbon has become the universal symbol of breast cancer, illustrating the cause, raising awareness, and bringing together women in solidarity.
Health Tips
Fall brings cooler weather and an increase in respiratory illnesses, such as the common cold, flu, RSV, and COVID-19. Protect yourself and others by practicing healthy habits daily:
Wash your hands often with soap and water - especially before eating and using shared devices
Avoid touching your face
Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue - then wash or sanitize your hands
Keep your immune system strong by getting enough rest, eating well, and staying hydrated
Fresh air - when possible, open windows and spend time outdoors
Stay home if you’re sick - students' symptoms must be improving, and they must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school
Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
