David Prouty has a culture of continuous improvement! We strive for improvement in every aspect of teaching & learning and the student experience in order to support students being productive at their highest levels. We are in the business of student achievement and building a positive school culture--these are the only agendas at DPHS that count!
Next Week is Spirit Week!
DPHS Student Leadership!
On Friday, December 12, four DPHS Students traveled to the headquarters of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association to participate in a conference, "Becoming a Student of Leadership". (Above: Alexis Huard, Kinley Sauvageau, Owen Granger, and Alejandro Orozco). Student leaders are an integral part of any successful school and providing opportunities for students to train for and learn about how their leadership is needed and strengthened is a great benefit of being an MIAA-affiliated school. Thank you to our student ambassadors for their efforts!
Winter Concert: Always a Favorite!
Thank you to the KTMS and DPHS student musicians, along with their directors, for a wonderful event on Thursday, December 11.

Inclement weather, snow / ice delays and cancellations will be sent by the district when decisions about school have been made and you will receive automated calls and texts. Please be sure your most updated contact information is on file with the schools. Posts will also be made on the District's Facebook page. Snow days will impact the last day of school, which will be noted in Important Dates & Reminders, below, as well as being listed in the Events section of the DPHS website.
WHEN THE DISTRICT HAS A DELAYED OPENING, THE SCHEDULE CHANGES SLIGHTLY. WATCH FOR THE LIVE FEED OF THE DAY'S BELL SCHEDULE WHEN DELAYS ARE CALLED!
Winter Season Opens!
As we enter another fabulous winter season of play, please remember that fans are an important part of the experience for our athletes! Being a supportive fan includes positive, uplifting conducts towards both teams and ensuring respectful discourse during the game or meet. The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association holds member schools to a high standard for consistently good sportsmanship! This means respect in what you say, do, support, and display. Set the example and be a Panther fan that others remember for cheering loud, being positive, and staying respectful of all players, coaches, and fans of both sides!

Students Celebrate the Season Together!

DPHS Students of the Month!

As part of the National Honor Society's Be the Change project, each month NHS recognizes two students with the Panthers of the Month award.
Panthers of the Month are nominated by the faculty for helping others, making more of an effort, and/or being role models for our school.
Congratulations to Brendan Barre and Gavin Griffin for being our Panthers of the Month for October!
Thank you for making positive contributions to our DPHS community!
Prouty Student Named Worcester Telegram & Gazette
Student of the Week!
Congratulations to Lilyan Mateucci! Lilyan, a senior at DPHS, has achieved high honors throughout all four years. A dedicated athlete, she has participated in multiple sports, including softball, where she plays first base and outfield, and indoor track, where she competes in distance events. Beyond athletics, Lilyan has a deep passion for music and has played percussion in the concert band all years. She has been an integral of the band's success and has contributed to the many awards and recognitions the group has earned.
Thank you, Exchange Club! Classroom Supply Donations!

Thank you to the Exchange Club of Spencer for their generous donation of school supplies. These items and more were shared with our faculty. There was a lot gratitude from our teachers and these items will be put to use in classrooms right away!

🎒Attendance Matters!
Did you know student attendance in school is a legal requirement that schools are obligated to track and report? Schools have a variety of resources to assist when students are school avoidant or reluctant to attend. If you need assistance, best to reach out and document your efforts as parents / guardians because if court support becomes necessary, the attempts to obtain help are often viewed favorably!
AND it's the law!

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the growing impact of diabetes and the importance of prevention. More than 38 million Americans have diabetes, 90% - 95% of them have type 2 diabetes. Today, more children, teens, and young adults are developing type 2 diabetes than ever before. The good news? Type 2 diabetes can often be prevented or delayed with simple lifestyle changes that support healthy blood sugar balance, weight management, and overall well-being.
Why American Diabetes Month matters:
Every 26 seconds, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with diabetes
1 in 285 American children has diabetes
Nearly 1 in 2 Americans has diabetes or prediabetes
1 in 3 American seniors has diabetes
But these aren’t just statistics.
They’re mothers and fathers and kids and grandparents.
They have families and stories. Struggles and hopes.
Health Tip
Eating balanced meals, staying active, and getting enough sleep all help your body use energy more efficiently. Try swapping a sugary drink for water and aim for at least 60 minutes of movement daily.
For more information on diabetes, click the link: https://diabetes.org/about-diabetes
Health Tips
Fall brings cooler weather and an increase in respiratory illnesses, such as the common cold, flu, RSV, and COVID-19. Protect yourself and others by practicing healthy habits daily:
Wash your hands often with soap and water - especially before eating and using shared devices
Avoid touching your face
Cover your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue - then wash or sanitize your hands
Keep your immune system strong by getting enough rest, eating well, and staying hydrated
Fresh air - when possible, open windows and spend time outdoors
Stay home if you’re sick - students' symptoms must be improving, and they must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to school
Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
