David Prouty has a culture of continuous improvement! We strive for improvement in every aspect of teaching & learning and the student experience in order to support students being productive at their highest levels. We are in the business of student achievement and building a positive school culture--these are the only agendas at DPHS that count!
Criminal Justice Students Visit Courthouse!

On Friday, March 12, Juniors and Seniors from the Criminal Justice Program attended a field trip at the East Brookfield District Courthouse.
While at the courthouse, the students were able to watch an OUI (Operating Under the Influence) Bench Trial in which the judge heard the facts of the case and made the final decision. The students observed the prosecution and defense attorneys question the witnesses and were able to see how our justice system operates from the court perspective.
They met with Assistant District Attorney Amanda Moran, Judge Timothy Bibeau, Chief of Probation Rose Sliwinski, and several other court related positions including court officers, defense attorneys, probation officers, and victim witness advocate. ADA Moran, Judge Bibeau, and Chief of Probation Sliwinski spoke with the students one on one to explain their experiences in their respective fields, what they do and why they do it, and answered any questions the students had.
After the trial, the students were able to observe a variety of docket events in the main courtroom including arraignments, pre-trial hearings, plea deals, restraining order hearings, discovery and compliance updates, and more!

Early College Visit to UMASS!

On Monday, March 9, students from DPHS traveled to Amherst to tour the campus of the University of Massachusetts as part of the Early College High School Program college tours option. Students got to see the student union, campus buildings that house various programs and services, the library, and of course, had a great meal!
These opportunities are critical for students to gain exposure to college experiences, and we are grateful for our Early College High School designation which funds these activities!
Congratulations to our February Panthers of the Month!
As part of the National Honor Society's Be the Change project, each month NHS recognizes two students with the Panthers of the Month award.

Panthers of the Month are nominated by the faculty for helping others, making more of an effort, and/or being role models for our school.
Congratulations to Bradyn LaFountain, left, and Matt McNicol for being our Panthers of the Month for February!
Thank you for making positive contributions to our DPHS community!
Support Means Everything!
Thank you to Uncle Sam's Pizza, for their unyielding support of our Athletic Booster through incredible donations this year!
Updates to the DPHS school-year school calendar!
FOUR snow days (January 26, January 27, February 23, and February 24) plus the three remaining flood-related days in December have pushed DPHS's 180th Day of school to Wednesday, June 24th;
Although DPHS missed five days in December due to the flood, Thursday, January 29, 2026 was originally slated to be a full professional development day for teachers and no school for students but became a HALF DAY OF SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS AT DAVID PROUTY HIGH SCHOOL ONLY and served as the 1st make-up day of 9 required so far;
Friday, April 3, 2026 was originally slated to be a no-school day for students and faculty / staff in observance of Good Friday; April 3 will now be a FULL DAY OF SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF AT DAVID PROUTY HIGH SCHOOL ONLY and will serve as the 2nd make up day of 9 required;
The remaining three missed days due to the flood that must be made up will be added to the end of the school as of now, along with the four snow days so far. If changes due to excessive snow days are necessary, updates will be shared as soon as they are known.
Transportation will be provided as usual on all make up days.
Please remember the 3 make-up flood days affect ONLY David Prouty High School and therefore make up days extend further into June for DPHS only. Please see the other district's school's calendars (Knox Trail Middle, East Brookfield Elementary, and Wire Village) for specifics on THEIR last day!

Health Tips
March is National Nutrition Month, a great time to think about how important good nutrition is for our health and learning. What we eat during the day affects energy, focus, and overall mood. Choosing balanced meals with fruits, veggies, whole grains, and protein helps to keep our bodies and minds fueled.
Skip drinks that are high in calories and sugar and replace them with water. A large Strawberry Dragonfruit Dunkin' refresher has 37 grams of sugar, which is roughly 9 teaspoons of sugar! This is higher than the recommended daily maximum intake of 25 grams of added sugar.
The choices we make about food and beverages can fuel and support our bodies and overall well-being.
Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
