NHS Hosts Walk to Support Autism Resource Center!
On Saturday, April 11, students from the David Prouty chapter of the National Honor Society hosted a walk to support the Autism Resource Center. Thank you to everyone who came out to support both the NHS students and the Autism Resource Center.

Congratulations to our March Panthers of the Month!
As part of the National Honor Society's Be the Change Project, each month NHS recognizes two students with the Panthers of the Month award. Panthers of the month are nominated by the faculty for helping others, making an effort, and / or being role models for our school.
Congratulations to Kaylin Caraballo and Emeric Halley for being our Panthers of the Month! Thank you for making a positive impact and your contributions to our DPHS community!

Important Screenings Update!
Beginning April 27, the nurse will conduct postural and SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) screenings for all 9th-grade students as part of the annual state-mandated universal health screening process administered by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These screenings are part of routine health assessments and help support student well-being.
An email with detailed information has been sent to families, and is posted above at the top of this week's edition of The Friday Memo. Please note that both screenings are voluntary. If you prefer to have your student excluded, kindly email the school nurse to opt out: breaultd@sebrsd.org
Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Health Tips
🌷
As we move into spring, seasonal allergies are becoming more common for many students. Seasonal allergies typically refer to allergies triggered by pollen. Pollen is only released by plants during certain times of the year; because of this, these allergies aren’t year-round.
In Massachusetts, tree pollen is the main allergen in the spring. Nasal allergies, caused by pollen, can lead to itchy, watery eyes, runny noses, sneezing, and coughing.
Please note that the nursing office does not stock or provide allergy medication. All allergy medications must be administered at home before the school day. If your student requires medication during the school hours, a physician’s order and parent/guardian permission must be on file per school policy.
Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
