The Career and Technical Education program's milestone event is Capstone Day! Students who have spent this year working toward a cumulative goal of their capstone project share their work with their CTE peers, advisors, teachers, internship partners, and families. Mock Crash Event, Tuesday, May 5th!

On May 5, 2026 from 9:30-11:00am, DPHS is hosting a mock crash demonstration to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. This time of year brings many celebrations and events and it is important to remind students of safe driving awareness.

Students in grades 11 and 12 will attend as well as any underclassmen that are attending prom. This event will involve student actors and local first responders, including police, fire, EMS, and a funeral home representative. The simulation will depict a serious car crash scenario and may include emergency vehicles, sirens, and dramatized injuries.

Following this, students will hear from a guest speaker regarding her first hand account with this type of scenario and the lasting impacts.

Please be aware that this presentation may be emotional or difficult for some individuals. Support will be available for any student who may need it.

If you would like your child to opt out of this exercise, please email: sara.kinnas@sebrsd.org Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Congratulations to our March Panthers of the Month!

As part of the National Honor Society's Be the Change Project, each month NHS recognizes two students with the Panthers of the Month award. Panthers of the month are nominated by the faculty for helping others, making an effort, and / or being role models for our school.

NHSCongratulations to Kaylin Caraballo and Emeric Halley for being our Panthers of the Month! Thank you for making a positive impact and your contributions to our DPHS community!

Stay tuned for our APRIL Panthers of the Month!

May is National Fitness & Sports Month

May is National Fitness and Sports Month, a great reminder for students (and adults) to stay active and support their overall health and well-being. Physical activity offers many benefits, including improved brain health, better sleep, reduced anxiety/depression, strong bones/muscles, and weight management. Regular activity increases energy, enhances academic performance, and boosts self-esteem. Kids and teens ages 6-17 need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Looking for ways to help your kids get more physical activity? See this link

Health Tips

🌷

As we move into spring, seasonal allergies are becoming more common for many students. Seasonal allergies typically refer to allergies triggered by pollen. Pollen is only released by plants during certain times of the year; because of this, these allergies aren’t year-round.

In Massachusetts, tree pollen is the main allergen in the spring. Nasal allergies, caused by pollen, can lead to itchy, watery eyes, runny noses, sneezing, and coughing.

Please note that the nursing office does not stock or provide allergy medication. All allergy medications must be administered at home before the school day. If your student requires medication during the school hours, a physician’s order and parent/guardian permission must be on file per school policy.

Please call or email the nurse with any questions or concerns!
