DPHS Physical Education hosts Disc Golf Pros and members of Uplay Disc Golf !

On Tuesday, September 22, Uplay Disc Golf - a non-profit whose mission is "To promote health and well-being and enhance communities through disc golf education for all" and which was founded in 2017 by pro disc golfer Zoe An Dyke, shared some of their touring professional coaches with our school as guest instructors for some Physical Education classes to introduce students to the fundamentals of disc golf. The high-energy, interactive session included demonstrations and skill-building drills for students to try from some of the best professional players in the world, creating a great memorable experience for each student involved. DPHS received two portable baskets and 90 discs (30 starter sets) our coaches use for teaching, plus our Uplay curriculum book. Uplay also provides a free ticket link for every student, staff member, and their families (2 tickets per person) to attend the Disc Golf Pro Tour event in Leicester this weekend (see below).

Thanks to our PE staff, Mrs. Johanna Fazio, and Mr. Tab Bassett, who organized this special event, and to the Uplay organization and the visiting pros who dedicated this time to share with our students.
