All students at Knox Trail have the opportunity to learn an instrument. Your children have received instruction on the different sections and instruments of a band and have also viewed the PowerPoint below. Each slide of the PowerPoint has a sound icon; please click on the icon to hear an explanation. I am looking forward to teaching many new band members this year!. (One thing I forgot to include in the PowerPoint is to please avoid purchasing instruments on Amazon. The prices are very enticing, the colors are oh so pretty, and the white gloves the instruments come with can be oh so irresistible. These little gems do not play in tune, and once they break, the instrument is irreparable due to a lack of replacement parts. The best option is to rent an instrument for the trial period through Gerry's Music Shop and then reevaluate at the end of the four months).
