• Put grade-level, high-quality material in front of all students.

• Ensure the students do the work and the thinking

• Promote deep engagement in learning through speaking, writing, and other performance tasks

• Hold high expectations for all students and believe they can meet grade-level standards

OUR DISTRICT

Our educators are focused on the consistent individual growth of the students so that they are "college, career, and life ready!" This speaks to the importance of holding students accountable for their capabilities and providing them with the resources to grow exponentially throughout the year.

Educating our students is not a precise science. It requires a rigorous, ongoing cycle of monitoring, reflection, and revision, incorporating an element of flexibility. We need to account for the individual strengths and needs of our students in each classroom district-wide. The "success" of our work is consistently being discussed across our school community, whether in assessment, department, or school committee meetings.

The Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School Committee is an active member of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees.
