David Prouty has a culture of continuous improvement! Improvement in every aspect of teaching & learning and the student experience in order to support students being productive at their highest levels. We are in the business of student achievement and building a positive school culture--these are the only agendas at DPHS that count!
🥳 Thank you to everyone who came out for our 9th Grade Orientation and 10-12th Grade Open House events!
On Wednesday, August 20th, David Prouty High School hosted two welcome-back events to provide students and families with information about the upcoming year as well as an opportunity to tour the new facility! It was a fantastic turnout and an evening full of positive energy as students and families got to hear some information about the upcoming year and tour the gorgeous new school facility! Thank you to our amazing Student Council students who helped host this important event by greeting and directing visitors, and to the staff members who came to support it. Incoming 9th Graders received a personalized welcome bag with their schedule and other pertinent information to help make the transition to high school smoother and help everyone feel prepared.
We'd love your feedback specific to these events as we plan for future ones! Click here to access our 9th Grade Orientation Feedback Form or here for the 10-12th Grade Open House Feedback form! You can also use this form to send us questions that were not covered in the presentation or if you were unable to attend that will help prepare for back-to-school!
Stay tuned for information on an Open House where the public is welcome to tour the new facility, coming soon!
🗓️ NEW THIS WEEK!
New information to note!
We are gearing up for an amazing school year with lots to share with everyone to prepare for opening day on August 26th! Please be sure you are reading further so you don't miss important information needed to ensure smooth start to the year!
🚌 Please be sure you are checking our website for information on current bus route information. Click here for the bus routes, which are also linked on our webpage. We STRONGLY encourage anyone who is eligible for bus transportation to utilize it in order to minimize private car traffic as much as possible during this phase of construction. Impacts on Route 9 that create safety hazards or significant backups will result in potentially disruptive changes to our current plans.
🚗 Student Parking / Student Drop off & Pickup: SAFETY FIRST!
Due to staffing availability and resources, the building is open at 7:30 a.m. but not before, regardless of weather. Please plan accordingly. For safety, students are not permitted to enter the building before then and therefore should not be on school grounds before that time.
Information on student parking will be emailed directly to students before school starts. Students who are not issued parking permits should not bring their vehicles onto school grounds. If you feel an error has been made, please reach out to us before changing it. Students who do not receive an initial parking permit may be granted one later in the year if capacity changes.
Parking lot information! Click here for the map (thumbnail is above) of the parking lot, which details where student parking is located and the route for private vehicle drop-offs. This information will also be emailed directly to families and student drivers, as well as posted on our website under "Latest News".
Parents/guardians who drop off students are asked not to arrive before 7:30 a.m. and to please be expeditious in the drop-off process. Students should exit the vehicle as soon as the car can safely stop, make their way to the sidewalk as directed by staff on duty, and enter the building if it's after 7:30.
We ask everyone to be patient and follow on-site staff instructions when on school grounds in a private vehicle. Again, bus transportation for those eligible is the best bet this year!
Parents/guardians picking up a student after school are asked to arrive at or after 2:15 whenever possible to allow for buses, which need to roll on time each day in order to meet the needs of the other district school buildings and safely navigate this new space.
Parents/guardians dismissing a student before the school day is over are asked to park in an open space, come in through the front / main entrance (the "PreK entrance") and sign their student out.
🖋️ Please check Family ID for all start-of-year paperwork! All students and a parent/guardian must sign important acknowledgments, including for David Prouty's 2025-2026 Student Handbook and 9th Grader Chromebook distribution! Please stay tuned for instructions on accessing this acknowledgment on the first day!
💻 9th Graders: You will receive your district-issued Chromebook only after you and a parent/guardian have acknowledged the 2025-2026 Student Handbook and Chromebook sign-off. Stay tuned for details!
⚽Athletes! You have until Friday, September 12, to register for the Fall season! Go to the Athletics webpage! Don't forget a current physical is required to be on file!
🗺️If you were unable to attend our 9th Grade Orientation or 10th - 12th Grade Open House events, here is the building layout so you can get a sense of where you're going on the first day of school!
This year's daily schedule has not changed from school year 2024-2025. Students should be in their first period class by 7:40 to avoid being marked tardy or absent. Please refer to the handbook for the attendance policy and consequences for chronic absenteeism or tardiness.
Attendance Matters! Parents / guardians play a key role in supporting your child and preparing them for a successful future. Engaging children in learning so they are equipped and feel empowered for the next steps in life after graduation starts with attending school regularly.
Regular school attendance is critical to student success, not just academically, but for social/ emotional health, as well. Excessive school absences not only cause students to fall behind academically but can also cause anxiety issues when returning to school, due to missed lessons and make-up work. In addition, peer relationships can be negatively impacted.
We will keep a running list of Important Dates & Reminders for you each week in The Friday Memo so you can be sure not to miss anything important. For planning purposes, check out the district calendar here or click on the thumbnail (right).
Stay tuned for the many opportunities to get involved at Prouty! The high school experience is enhanced by getting involved in activities or sports that you think you might (or already!) enjoy, and finding or deepening connections with classmates and friends of all grades!
David Prouty High School offers these organizations to make finding YOUR place in our community even more fun:

Stay tuned for other opportunities!
Meeting times and dates for clubs, sports, and activities will be listed weekly in The Friday Memo. Please check back as the year kicks off for specific listings and the faculty / staff involved!
Student schedules are created based on faculty recommendations made in the spring, student credit requirements, student progress, among other factors like staffing and resources. While we strive to provide students with the courses of their choosing, there are many factors in play. Schedules are finalized over the summer and, for the most part, are complete and reflect what the student needs to remain on track to graduate.
When there is a need to change a schedule, these changes are made as close to the start of the school year as possible to avoid any gaps in students' exposure to instruction. Students who feel there is an error or need to make a schedule change should request a meeting with their counselor ASAP on Tuesday, August 26th. Schedule changes will be considered over the first five days of the year.
Student counselors are assigned as follows:
A-L Mrs. Arguello: arguelloj@sebrsd.org
M-Z Mrs. Paradis: paradisc@sebrsd.org
